Vice Chair Crowley Statement on UN Security Council Resolution on Israel

(Queens, N.Y.) – Today, Rep. Joe Crowley (D-Queens, the Bronx), Vice Chair of the Democratic Caucus, released the following statement on the United Nations Security Council resolution being considered regarding Israel.

“It is in the national security interests of the United States to secure a peaceful solution to the crisis in the Middle East, and I support U.S. efforts to achieve that goal through bilateral dialogue that genuinely resolves differences. But I am deeply troubled by Egypt’s new efforts to pass a new United Nations Security Council resolution, and it should be vetoed.”

Congressman Crowley is the nine-term representative from the 14th Congressional District of New York, which includes sections of Queens and the Bronx. He is a member of the powerful Ways and Means Committee and serves as Vice Chair of the Democratic Caucus in the House of Representatives.
