WASHINGTON – Rep. Paul Cook (R- Apple Valley) voted for H.R. 644, the Fighting Hunger Incentive Act. This bill makes permanent the enhanced deduction for charitable contributions by businesses.
This legislation will allow tax-free distributions from IRA accounts for charitable purposes. Allowing for these tax-free distributions encourages contributions to local food banks by making permanent a food inventory donation provision in the tax code.

WASHINGTON – Rep. Paul Cook (R-Yucca Valley) today voted for H.R. 367, the Regulations from the Executive in Need of Scrutiny (REINS) Act. The bill, which passed by 232 to 183, would require federal agencies to get Congressional approval for any regulations that would cost more than $100 million.

WASHINGTON –Rep. Paul Cook (R-Yucca Valley) today voted for H.R. 2009, the Keep the IRS Off Your Healthcare Act of 2013. The act, which passed by a vote of 232 to 185, prohibits the IRS from implementing or enforcing any provisions of Obamacare.

WASHINGTON – Rep. Paul Cook (R-Yucca Valley) today voted in support of two bills that would delay the implementation of Obamacare until 2015. The “Fairness for American Families Act” which protects American individuals from being required to buy health insurance or pay a fine, passed by a vote of 251 to 174. The “Authority for Mandate Delay Act” which delays the imposition of Obamacare regulations on businesses, passed by a vote of 264 to 161.
