Internships

Overview

Congressman Robert A. Brady’s internship program offers students the tremendously rewarding experience of learning about the functions of the House of Representatives, as well as, the Congressman's role in representing the 1st Congressional District of Pennsylvania.  Although the internships are unpaid, Congressman Brady supports students seeking college credit for their work in the office.  Interns are accepted any time of the year, although it is best if a student can work for a full semester or summer.  A three-month period of time allows the student to truly experience life in a Congressional office.

Responsibilities

Office Duties include answering phones, attending and summarizing hearings/briefings, sorting mail and faxes, leading tours of the Capitol, as well as assisting the legislative staff. Interns will have the opportunity to work on issues which are of particular interest to them and gain valuable experience working on Capitol Hill.
