Congressional App Challenge

Overview

The Congressional App Challenge (CAC) is designed to engage student's creativity and encourage their participation in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) education fields. This nationwide event allows high school students from across the country to compete by creating and exhibiting their software application, or "app," for mobile, tablet, or computer devices on a platform of their choice.

All entries must meet the following criteria:

  • All entries must be an original in concept, design and execution.
  • Students may compete as individuals or in teams of up to four students, as long as two of the team reside in or are eligible to attend public high school in their Congressional District.
  • All eligible high school students are encouraged to participate, regardless of past experience!

Eligibility

  • Must be a high school student
  • Students must live in the North Carolina’s First Congressional District

Requirements

  • The student(s) must register here on Challenge.Gov.
  • The Challenge submission period runs through January 15th, 2016.
  • Students can submit an app that was created within ONE calendar year of January 15, 2016
  • Student must submit a video of themselves explaining their app and how it works
