House App Challenge

The U.S. House of Representatives has announced the launch of the third annual "Congressional App Challenge” (CAC) designed to encourage all students nationwide to use their creativity to inspire new apps for a mobile, tablet, or computer devices in the Congressional Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Academic Challenge.  

The "Congressional App Challenge" is now open to all students in New York's 8th Congressional District.  Students participating must submit their app source code between 12:00 PM Eastern Time July 18, 2016 and 12:00 PM Eastern Time on November 2, 2016.  Included should be a YouTube/Vimeo video explaining the app itself and what they learned through this competition.

Can I Participate?

  1. Members of Congress must opt-in for their district to participate in this competition. If a Member does not opt-in, constituents in their district will be ineligible to participate.
  2. The Competition is open to all students that attend a public school in that district. Individuals submitting on behalf of teams must meet the eligibility requirements for individual Contestants.

How do I Enter?

To enter, the student must create an account and register at  www.congressionalappchallenge.us during the Competition Submission Period.  All entries must be an original in concept, design and execution. Additionally, students may submit entries that are conceptual and do not have a working program.
