Internships

Washington, DC

In our Washington, DC office, internships run throughout the fall, spring or summer semesters for college students. An internship on Capitol Hill can provide invaluable work experience and insight into the legislative process. Office hours can be flexible to accommodate students' hectic course schedules, but generally run 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. when Congress is in session, and 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. when not in session.

Intern responsibilities will vary. They will be asked to perform many tasks that will familiarize them with the daily duties of a Capitol Hill staff member. Interns will be given important responsibilities such as guiding constituent tours, researching legislation for the Member and legislative staff, attending hearings, and assisting in drafting constituent correspondence on various policy issues before the House.

Florida

In our St. Augustine and Port Orange offices, interns will familiarize themselves with the unique needs of FL-06 and the work that our local offices perform for constituents. These tasks include constituent correspondence through answering phones, writing letters, and assisting with local media clips. In addition, interns may be assigned to assist with constituent casework or assist on District-based projects of importance.
