On Tuesday, June 16, 2015, Congressman Marc Veasey (TX-33) spoke on the House floor to commemorate the three year anniversary of President Obama's 2012 Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival (DACA) program.

DACA has brought relief to thousands of young Texans to continue their studies and contribute to our economy. 

While President Obama’s efforts to expand DACA and initiate the Deferred Act for Parental Accountability (DAPA) program are temporarily stalled in the courts, Congressman Veasey is committed to fighting for immigrant families nationwide so they can come out of the shadows and live the American dream.

On Wednesday June 10, 2015, Congressman Marc Veasey, TX-33, took to the House floor to applaud the Texas Legislature for passing House Bill 48, establishing the “Tim Cole Exoneration Review Commission.” The new 11-member panel will examine wrongful convictions to determine what went wrong and then make recommendations aimed at avoiding the mistakes that were made in Tim Cole’s case in the future.

Congressman Veasey Addresses Pre-K Education Opportunities in Texas

WASHINGTON, DC – On Thursday, February 12, 2015, U.S. Congressman Marc Veasey, TX-33, took the floor to address Pre-K Education opportunities in Texas.  The Department of Education recently released its first Preschool Development Grants, aimed at improving the quality and quantity of early education around the country. Eighteen states were chosen to receive the grants. Texas was not one of those states.
