Congressman Veasey to Work at Military Retail Headquarters

Jan 11, 2017
Press Release
Rep. Veasey will work at Dallas’ Army and Air Force Exchange Service facilities during his January workday

DALLAS, TX – On Tuesday, January 17, 2017, Congressman Marc Veasey will experience firsthand the types of retail services available to military personnel by working at the Army and Air Force Exchange Service headquarters during his first “Marc Means Business” work day of 2017. As part of his time at “The Exchange”, Veasey will roll up his sleeves and work in the food court at Starbucks and Burger King and learn about the daily responsibilities of workers at the Exchange’s call center.

Since 1895, the Army and Air Force Exchange Service has provided quality, tax-free retail services and merchandise to Active Duty, Guard and Reserve members, military retirees and their families. The Exchange employs over 35,000 veterans and spouses worldwide.

Since March 2014, Veasey has worked at a different job in his district each month, learning firsthand about the diverse range of businesses in the 33rd Congressional District of Texas. Veasey has worked behind the scenes at a skating rink, a local tire shop, waste management service, and a Quinceñera shop. The Marc Means Business constituent outreach series connects Veasey with residents at their place of employment to better understand the challenges they face in their work and daily lives.
