WASHINGTON, D.C.– Congressman Billy Long (MO-07) issued the following statement on the passage of theRegulations from the Executive in Need of Scrutiny (REINS) Act:

"Unelected bureaucrats in Washington have pushed through regulations that have damaging effects on hardworking Americans for far too long," said Rep. Long. "Since 2009, the estimated costs of these arbitrary regulations reached almost $2 trillion. The bureaucrats aren't the ones paying the additional costs, small business owners and American families are the ones who are paying. The REINS Act requires Congress to approve any major regulations submitted. This allows for more accountability as well as gives the American people the chance to voice their concerns."
