Payne, Jr. Statement on Shooting at Fort Lauderdale Airport

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Donald M. Payne, Jr. (NJ-10) released the following statement on the shooting at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport:

“My thoughts and condolences are with the families of the victims of today’s shooting in Fort Lauderdale, and I wish a speedy recovery to those injured. It was horrifying to see yet another senseless act of gun violence cut short innocent lives. This violence is not normal, and we cannot tolerate these kinds of tragedies. I also express my deepest gratitude to the first responders whose courage and swift actions saved lives and resulted in the quick apprehension of a suspect.”
