Congressman Harris was recently appointed to the prestigious House Committee on Appropriations that is in charge of the amount of federal dollars that are allocated to various areas. The committee also holds oversight to ensure that tax dollars are being spent properly.

As a result, he had to relinquish his membership on the other committees he was a part of which included the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure; the Committee on Natural Resources; and the Committee on Science, Space, and Technology.

On the House Committee on Appropriations, Congressman Harris will play an important role on the following subcommittees:

-Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies

-Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies

-Homeland Security
