Art Competition

Art Competition

The Congressional Art Competition is a decades long tradition in Congress meant to encourage and recognize the rich talent of young artists throughout the 28th District. Every year, Congressman Schiff invites each high school in the 28th Congressional District to submit three entries representing their school. A blue-ribbon selection committee will then review all the entries from the 28th Congressional District to determine first, second and third place winners. In addition, there is a “People’s Choice” award, which is decided through an online vote.

The first place winner’s artwork will hang in the U.S. Capitol for one year, the piece awarded second place will hang in the Congressman’s Washington, D.C. Office for one year, and the piece awarded third place will hang in his Burbank District Office for one year. The “People’s Choice” winner’s artwork will be displayed in Rep. Schiff’s Hollywood District Office.
