YORK, PA – U.S. Representative Scott Perry (R-PA) issued the following statement regarding Russia’s alleged attempts to interfere in the U.S. presidential election.
“We must investigate fully and, if necessary, push back forcefully against any cyberattacks on our democratic process. Russia’s alleged interference in our recent presidential election must be taken seriously. Any state-sponsored intrusion is unnerving, but intervention by Russia particularly is problematic because it would represent a stark escalation in Russian aggression against American interests. As a Member of the House Homeland Security Committee, I’ve fought to modernize our laws to reflect the rapidly growing economic and national security concerns associated with cyberattacks. I’ll continue these efforts and work closely with the current and incoming administrations, along with Congressional leaders, to strengthen our Nation’s cyber security and protect against future attacks.”
