Congressman Tom McClintock

Representing the 4th District of California

Congressional Art Competition

Each spring the Congressional Institute sponsors a nationwide high school visual art competition to recognize and encourage artistic talent in the nation and in each congressional district.

The winning entry from each congressional district across the United States is displayed for one year in the Cannon Tunnel of the U.S. Capitol.  The winning student from each congressional district is invited, along with one guest, to the unveiling of the exhibit and a reception in Washington, D.C., and is provided two round-trip airline tickets for the occasion.

"American Exceptionalism" was the theme for the 2016 contest for the 4th Congressional District. A detailed description of how the art related to the theme "American Exceptionalism" was required to be submitted with the entry.

The 2016 contest has concluded. Contest rules from 2016 can be found here and the 2016 Student Information Release Form (which also contains further contest information) was required to be submitted with the entry.

For Art Competition information, please call Congressman McClintock's district office at 916-786-5560.  Information on dates and the theme for the 2017 contest will be posted on this page in early 2017.
