Matt Weiser grossly misrepresents both Republican federal lands policy and my leadership of the House subcommittee that oversees it.

Merced River Plan
July 2015

The Merced River Plan would define how the Park Service will manage the Merced River in Yosemite under its Wild and Scenic designation.

This plan will adversely affect visitor access to the Park and result in the closure of many historic amenities including the Curry Village ice skating rink, bike rental facilities, snack stands, swimming pools, tennis courts, retail stores and horse stables along with the destruction of the Sugar Pine Bridge.

Information about the Merced River Plan can be found on the National Park Service website: http://parkplanning.nps.gov/mrp_deis

We cannot overlook the seriousness of this proposal and the lasting effects it will have on Yosemite, its gateway communities and the many visitors who enjoy the park.  Thank you.

Sincerely,

Congressman McClintock
