Due to the large number of visitors to our nation’s Capital, please request tickets as early as possible. *Since the White House is the most requested tour in Washington, DC, please read the following instructions:

  • Requests made less than 90 days before the requested tour date will be waitlisted.
  • Even requests submitted before 90 days cannot be guaranteed.
  • The White House will not accept requests made less than three weeks in advance.
  • Visitors should not plan trips to Washington, DC, around a tour of the White House since the White House does not confirm or deny tour requests until about two weeks before the requested tour date.
  • Individuals will be subject to a limited background check. My staff will guide you through the process for submitting the necessary information.
  • On Sept. 4, 2009, President Obama announced that the White House will release to the public the full names and tour dates for visitors 90-120 days after a tour. Your date of birth, Social Security number and all other private information will not be released.

**The FBI has suspended tours until at least February 2017 for renovation of the FBI Educational Center. After February, tours are restricted to groups of 6 persons at least 16 years of age due to tour content, and each group member must be a U.S. citizen. Tours are selected by the FBI on a first-come, first-served basis and individuals will be subject to a limited background check. FBI tour requests will require additional personal information and attendees will be expected to have a RealID or a second form of government-issued identification. Tours are offered on Monday through Thursday and need to be requested at least 5 weeks in advance.
