The House GOP's priorities?
1. Waste taxpayer dollars.
2. Ignore job creation.
Share this if you think America deserves better.

It’s been one year since the Senate passed immigration reform. How many excuses do House Republicans have left? #TimeIsNow

Immigrants help drive America's success, even in the World Cup! Look at what the #USMNT would look like without them: http://goo.gl/mJTYfy #TimeIsNow

Illegal aliens are NOT immigrants...the entire concept of immigration is predicated upon legal entry. All others are illegal, alien to our laws. It's just that the Demoncrats depend upon illegals aliens to bolster their failing policies. What a shame what's happened to America.

Helping swear in my father, Thomas D'Alesandro Jr., as Mayor of Baltimore.

A public servant in the truest sense, his #FathersDayWish was that I—and all of America's sons and daughters—would find no obstacles on our paths to reaching our goals. Happy #FathersDay to every dad who is helping his children's dreams come true.

For 50 years, the Civil Rights Act has stood as one of the great legislative achievements in our history: a pillar of fairness, justice and equality, and a monument to countless acts of courage that brought it into being.

This law was built by the daily heroism, dignity, and defiance of millions of Americans crying out for justice – daring to dream of a day beyond the segregation and the discrimination that cleaved our nation.

As we observe this anniversary, we must renew our commitment to reclaim the cornerstone of our democracy and pass a renewed, revised, and strengthened Voting Rights Act. Together, we will continue to advance the cause of civil rights in America, and carry forward the legacy of leadership that has made so much of our nation’s progress possible.

With the #HobbyLobby decision, the Supreme Court took an outrageous step against the rights of America’s women, setting a dangerous precedent that could permit for-profit corporations to pick and choose which laws to obey. This deeply misguided and destructive decision is a serious blow to Americans’ ability to make their own health decisions

Allowing employers and CEOs to limit the health care available to employees is a gross violation of their workers’ religious rights. It’s just not her boss’s business. No employer should have the right to limit the health choices of its employees, male or female. #NotMyBossBusiness

A year ago today, the Supreme Court struck a blow to the Voting Rights Act, landmark legislation that serves as the sentinel of every American’s right to vote. We cannot be silent, and we will not tolerate discrimination in our democracy. It’s time for Congress to renew the Voting Rights Act. #VRA4today

As someone who grew up in Baltimore, the Washington football team has always held a special place in my heart.  The team name is another matter.  For so many Native Americans, this name has long stood as a deep offense – an affront to the dignity of their heritage, and an insult to the proud identity they hope to pass on to their children and their grandchildren.

Today’s actions by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office are in line with longstanding rules on the treatment of disparaging or offensive names.  While we respect the right to free speech, slurs have no right to trademark protections.

The team that represents our nation’s capital should be a source of pride to all Americans.  It’s long past time for the Washington football team to choose a new name.

United States centre-back John Brooks scored a stunning header to give the United States the 2-1 lead over Ghana.

The President has made clear the situation in Iraq is not one that can be solved without its leaders demonstrating a willingness to make hard decisions and compromises to bring their country together.  First and foremost, Iraq’s leaders must step up and work with all Iraqis to overcome the sectarian differences that are crippling their country.

They must do more to strengthen the capacity and the morale of Iraq’s security forces, and ensure these forces hold true to their duty to the Iraqi people.  Taking these actions is the only way to achieve lasting security, stability and prosperity for all the people of Iraq.

I was pleased by the President’s assurances that he will not send U.S. troops back into combat in Iraq.  Congress looks forward to receiving additional intelligence and information regarding the military, humanitarian and other support options being considered by the Administration. #Iraq
