For Veterans
Standing up for our veterans is a personal priority for Gary. His dad was a World War II veteran, and Gary previously served in the U.S. Navy Reserve for more than a decade. Answering the call to serve in our nation's military means having access to the educational opportunities, health care benefits and job training and assistance you have earned through your service. Our brave men and women in uniform have our backs when they put their lives on the line to defend our country and our values, and we need to have theirs when they make the transition back to civilian life.
Below you will find helpful links and resources for Michigan veterans. If you have a question about a federal program, or are having problems with a federal agency, click here to get help from Gary’s office.
VA Clinics
Michigan veterans should have access to quality health care services in their local communities. To find a veterans health care clinic near you, visit the Department of Veterans Affairs website.
Vietnam Veteran Lapel Pin
Senator Peters would like to present veterans in Michigan with the Vietnam Veteran Lapel Pin as a lasting keepsake for their service and sacrifice on behalf of our nation. Living United States veterans who served on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces at any time during the period of November 1, 1955 to May 15, 1975 are eligible to receive a lapel pin.
A medal ceremony to present all Vietnam Veteran Lapel Pins will be scheduled based on requests to honor Vietnam Veterans. (please note: event details will be sent to veterans who register). To claim your pin, click here to complete the form (please complete all fields).
