October is National Book Month and I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate than to read to second and fifth graders at George Washington Elementary School in Hanford. As parents, we must encourage our children to read and highlight the importance of reading for their future success!

Across the country, veterans are waiting months, and sometimes years, for necessary care and treatment through VA medical centers. This is simply unacceptable.

I just introduced legislation, H.R. 6207, to help the VA schedule timely medical appointments for our nation's heroes.

H.R. 6207 would assist the VA in scheduling prompt medical appointments so our veterans are able to access the quality and efficient care they depend on through the Veterans Health Administration.
