Last night, Chief Deputy Whip Patrick McHenry (R, NC-10) released the following statement after House passage of H.R. 26, the Regulations from the Executive in Need of Scrutiny (REINS) Act of 2017:

“Over the last eight years, the Obama Administration has led a regulatory onslaught. With a cumulative economic cost of nearly $2 trillion, these unilateral actions have killed jobs and driven up the prices for everyday goods and services.

“Tonight, the House took an important step to slow these regulations with passage of the REINS Act—a bill that requires any regulation with an economic impact over $100 million be submitted to Congress for approval. I’m proud to support this simple, common sense measure bringing accountability to the regulatory process.”
