Scheduler/Executive Assistant - 01/05/2017
The Office of Congressman Glenn Thompson (PA-5) seeks a Scheduler/Executive Assistant for the Washington, D.C. Office. Candidates must be extremely well organized, attentive to detail, reliable, and possess excellent research, writing and oral communications skills. Legislative Correspondent - 12/28/2016
Congressman Mast (R-FL) is looking for a Legislative Correspondent to help create a constituent mail system from scratch. This LC will play a big role in establishing a new Congressman’s policy stance on a wide array of issues. The daily routine will be heavy on research, an exhaustive amount of writing, and utilizing your creative mind to be a little more efficient today than you were yesterday.  Writing ability and Florida ties will be the most important factors in filling this position. Executive Assistant - 11/22/2016
Republican House Member seeks a hard-working, proactive, and detail-oriented Executive Assistant in Washington, D.C. office to develop and oversee Member and Office daily and long-term schedule as well as Office logistics.  Duties include performing the scheduling operations of an active Member: managing and evaluating meeting requests from start to finish, effectively adapting to variables in the schedule as well as fluctuating priorities, transporting Member to/from meetings and events, coordinating travel arrangements, and ensuring Member is prepared for meetings and events. Legislative Assistant - 11/14/2016
A Western Republican member of Congress seeks a Legislative Assistant for his Washington, D.C. office.  The Assistant’s primary areas of focus are Armed Services and Veteran’s Affairs. Additional assignments may include Foreign Affairs and Space/Aerospace. For the assigned subject matter, the Assistant is expected to:

  • Support the Representative’s legislative priorities through legislative research, the drafting of legislation, acting as the liaison to the relevant committees, work with the Congressional Research Service, and identifying strategies to advance those legislative priorities;
  • Prepare the member for committee hearings, staff those hearings and monitor/report to the Representative at times when he is unable to attend the meeting;

Legislative Director - 10/28/2016

In the Washington, DC office, internships run throughout the fall, spring or summer semesters for college students. Although all internships in all offices are unpaid, students gain invaluable work experience. The hours are flexible to accommodate students' hectic course schedules, but generally run 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. In Washington, DC, interns' responsibilities will vary. They will be asked to answer phones, run errands, research legislation for the Member and legislative staff, attend hearings and briefings and answer constituent letters on various issues before the House. Southwestern Congressman - 12/16/2016
Southwestern Congressman is seeking 3 month paid fellows with a business, financial or hard science background/degree. The ideal candidate will have at minimum a Bachelor’s degree in business (business administration, accounting, international business, etc.), a hard science, computer science, or engineering. The start date would begin the first week of January, 2017. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Microsoft Office Applications, able to work independently as well as in a team, available to work full time, have an attention to detail as well as good writing skills. The fellow will work with staffers to research and aid in the development of legislation. The fellow will be conducting research through a variety of sources, drafting memos, attending relevant hearings, and analyzing data and tables from various sources as well as reading and understanding previous legislation. The Washington, D.C. office of Rep. Mark Sanford (SC-01) seeks internship candidates for the upcoming spring semester that would be able to start in January 2017. Applicants should possess strong writing skills, be well organized, generally knowledgeable of legislative and related issues, able to complete tasks as directed, and have an eye for detail.
