The Human pappillomavirus (HPV) is an infection that causes several cancers, including cervical cancer. However, there is a very effective vaccine that can prevent cancers caused by HPV. The HPV vaccine is approved for boys and girls ages 9 to 26. Doctors recommend that adolescents are given the vaccine earlier, rather than later.
