Congressional Art Competition

In the spring of every year, the United States House of Representatives hosts a Congressional Art Competition for amateur artists.  The competition promotes attention to the arts by recognizing talented young artists from across the nation.

Generally, local contests are held within each Member’s district and the winning entries from all districts are displayed in the Cannon Tunnel in the United States Capitol for a period of one year.  Each winning student receives an invitation to attend a grand-opening ceremony for the unveiling of the display.
