Family The individual and the family are society’s cornerstone, but all too often the federal government tries to supplant the family with misguided programs. A mother and father are always more central than a government bureaucrat in a child’s life. With the recent birth of my first child, Brad Jr., I’ve come to experience the joys of parenthood firsthand, and am committed more than ever to fighting for families across southern and southwestern Ohio. That’s why I’ve supported legislation in the House of Representatives that gives families the flexibility to make life work for them. One of the major bills is the Working Families Flexibility Act, which empowers working parents to better balance overtime with more time off. This and other initiatives focus on allowing families to make decisions and choices that work best for their household.
Life I firmly believe that all human life is sacred and that life begins at conception. I agree with the Founding Fathers, who correctly placed life first among the list of rights in the Declaration of Independence. I am committed to defending the rights of the unborn and protecting the health of pregnant women. In that vein, I support all efforts to prohibit taxpayer funding of abortion.
