The U.S. House of Representatives has passed H.R. 26, the Regulations from the Executive in Need of Scrutiny (REINS) Act.  Congressman Bill Flores (R-Texas) issued the following statement regarding passage of the bill:

“One of the biggest burdens that American small businesses and manufacturers have today is the cost of complying with excessive and complicated federal regulations generated by the Obama administration.  During the last eight years, unelected and unaccountable Obama administration bureaucrats imposed countless rules and regulations that lower economic growth, hurt job opportunities and impose additional costs of almost $2 trillion on American job creators.  The REINS Act strengthens accountability, improves the regulatory process and protects both job creators and the American people from further unnecessary regulatory burdens.  By adding Congressional oversight to major regulations, we restrict out-of-control bureaucrats and reduce the strains imposed on our economy, businesses and hardworking American families.”

Congressman Bill Flores represents the 17th District of Texas and is an entrepreneur, former energy executive, Certified Public Accountant (CPA), former Chairman of the Republican Study Committee (RSC)  and member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee.

One of my top priorities of the 115th Congress is to repeal Obamacare and replace it with a 21st century health care system that lowers costs and expands access to quality care.
