Visiting Washington

SPECIAL NOTE: Thank you to everyone who has expressed interest in receiving tickets for the 58th Presidential Inauguration on January 20, 2017. I am excited to join you in witnessing this important day in our nation’s history. However, due to the high demand for inauguration tickets, my office is no longer able to accommodate new requests for tickets.

For those of you who have already submitted ticket requests, please note that a request does not guarantee you will receive tickets, as they will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. My office will be reaching out to those who have already submitted requests within the next few weeks. If you have any questions regarding inauguration tickets, please contact Kourtney Moody in my D.C. office at 202-225-1252.

Thank you, again, for your interest, and I look forward to seeing you in D.C.!

-----------------------------

My office can arrange tours of several popular sites in Washington, D.C., for residents of Florida's 15th Congressional District. Please keep in mind that tickets are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, and Spring Break, summer months and holidays are peak tourist seasons.

Due to heightened security, tour requests for the White House should be made well in advance. Space is VERY limited, and there is NO guarantee that you will receive tickets for this tour. White House tour requests must be submitted more than 90 days in advance. Requests submitted fewer than 90 days in advance will likely not receive approval for admission. All other tour requests should be submitted at least 60 days in advance.

If you have any questions regarding tour requests, please email Kourtney Moody at Kourtney.Moody@mail.house.gov.

Tips for Visiting Capitol Hill:

  • House and Senate Galleries - When Congress is in session, visitors are allowed to view live debate in the House and Senate Galleries between 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. To obtain passes to the Galleries, simply visit my Washington office located at 229 Cannon House Office Building.
*Please note that children must be at least six years of age to be admitted to the Senate Gallery. Children under the age of ten are allowed into the House Gallery if accompanied by an adult .
  • Meals - Cafeterias are located throughout the Capitol complex in the Capitol Visitor Center, Longworth House Office Building, Rayburn House Office Building, Dirksen Senate Office Building, and the James Madison Memorial Annex to the Library of Congress.
  • Transportation - Since parking is extremely limited in Washington, taxis, buses, and the Metrorail subway are the easiest forms of transportation to and from Capitol Hill.

The Capitol South Metro station is the closest station to our office. For additional details on the Washington Area Metropolitan Transit Authority (METRO), please visit: http://www.wmata.com/.
