Visiting Washington, DC is an exciting and educational experience. My door is always open to you, so please don't hesitate to stop by my office to visit with me and my staff. In addition, my staff can serve as a resource to you in booking tours for your trip. Below is information about two of the most popular tours as well as our "Welcome to Washington Flyer".  If you have any questions please contact my office at (202) 225-1492.

The White House

Requesting a tour of the White House is a 2-step process:

1: Complete the online Tour Request form.

2: Once my office has submitted your request to the White House Visitor’s Office, you will receive an email from the White House Visitor’s Office with instructions to fill out an RSVP form for each guest. Please note that you will be required to submit every visitor’s security information here. RSVP forms must be completed no later than 7 days after a tour request has been received. After that deadline has passed your request will be deleted.

  • The email your provide on the tour request form will be used for all further communication from the White House Visitor’s Office regarding your tour
  • Tour requests may be submitted up to 3 months in advance, and no later than 3 weeks before. Unfortunately, due to the high volume of white house tour requests that my office receives, we will delete all tour request forms that include dates in advance of the three month window or less than 3 weeks in advance.
  • You may request a tour for up to 100 guests
  • The number of requested guests cannot be changed without deleting your current request, and no guest substitutions may be made to tour requests once the tour has been scheduled by the White House Visitor’s Office.

Requirements for a White House Tour:

**Complete requests must be submitted at least three weeks in advance of your desired date and no more than 3 months in advance. Regrettably, the White House will not approve any tour requests submitted less than 21 days in advance, with absolutely no exceptions.

**It is very difficult to get tickets to tour the White House and slots are extremely limited. Unfortunately, my office has no role in the approval or denial process, other than submitting your request to the White House tour office.

**The White House does not inform Congressional offices about the status of tour requests until two weeks before the requested tour date.

**Tours are offered Tuesday-Saturday, with the exception of federal holidays.

All tours are subject to cancellation due to occasional security shutdowns.

Please do not hesitate to contact my office, at (202) 225-1492, if you need assistance with your request.

The United States Capitol

To request a tour of the Capitol you will only need to fill out the online Tour Request Form.

General admission tickets for the United States Capitol are available Monday through Saturday on a first come first serve basis.  Tickets are distributed beginning at 8:00 am, and tours are conducted from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm.

**The Capitol does not accept reservations more than 5 months in advance.

**Request a date as far in advance as possible as Capitol Tours can fill up quickly.

National Museum of African American History and Culture

Opening Day of the National Museum of African American History and Culture is Saturday, September 24. Due to the popularity and significance of the museum opening, the museum has implemented a timed pass system for guest entry. Timed passes are now available online at www.nmaahc.si.edu or by phone at (800) 514-3849. The NMAAHC is unable to guarantee that anyone will get passes for specific dates and time.

**My office is unable to make reservations on behalf of guests.
