With strong ties to agriculture, manufacturing, and energy production, the 16th district is in many ways a microcosm of the American Midwest.

From the site of a Lincoln-Douglas debate in 1858 and a major hub on the Underground Railroad to the childhood home of our 40th President, Ronald Reagan, the 16th district has definitely left its mark on American history.

Today, the 16th district is home to Starved Rock State Park and Northern Illinois University, and has attracted diverse citizens and businesses to these ever-changing and growing communities...
