My staff and I can assist with reserving tours at a number of popular attractions in Washington, D.C. Please be sure to give my staff ample time to work on your request as most of the attractions operate under a first-come, first-serve approval process. Most tours cannot be requested more than four months in advance. During peak tour season, March - August, space may be very limited and it is recommended you place your requests four months prior to your visit. Please submit your tour requests by filling out our online tour request form as soon as you know the dates you will be available in Washington. (*Please include dates that you will be available to tour the different institutions and exclude travel dates)

Tours around Washington are generally available from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Once your request form is submitted, we will begin the process of requesting tours. Please note that my office only places the requests and we have no influence over the approval processes at different sites around Washington.

              

The United States Capitol

This is a guided tour that covers the history, art and architecture of the Capitol building. The tour lasts approximately 60-90 minutes and takes you through the Crypt, the Rotunda and National Statuary Hall. Gallery Passes to the House Chambers are available through my office upon request. Please add at least an hour to your tour time to include the gallery. Nearest Metro Stop: Capitol South 

The Library of Congress

Tours of the Library of Congress include guided viewings of the art and architecture of the Library of Congress. Tours are led by trained Library of Congress staff and are offered Monday – Friday. This tour lasts approximately one hour. Nearest Metro Stop: Capitol South 

The Bureau of Engraving and Printing

This is a guided tour of the facility where U.S. paper currency is printed. This tour is very popular among children and is offered Monday – Friday for groups of 10 or less. Please allow one hour for this tour. Nearest Metro Stop: Smithsonian 

The Supreme Court of the United States

Tours of the Supreme Court include a lecture in the court room highlighting the history of the Court and the art and architecture of the court room and building. Please allow one hour for this lecture. Nearest Metro Stop: Capitol South 

The White House

This is a self guided tour of the East Wing and ceremonial floors of the White House. This tour is one of the most popular tours in Washington, D.C. and is offered Tuesday – Saturday. Please allow 30-45 minutes for the tour. Per White House policy, requests to tour the White House must be received at least one month in advance. Also note that visitor access records to the White House Complex, consisting of your full name and date of visit and will be made publicly available 90-120 days after the date of your tour. Nearest Metro Stops: Federal Triangle, Metro Center and McPherson Square.

Personal security information is required for the background check.  This tour fills quickly.  It is recommended you request this three to four months in advance.  

FBI

The FBI offers tours of their education center on Mondays-Thursdays at 9:00am and 10:00am.  There will be a firearms presentation at 10:30am daily.

The tour includes the FBI’s history, post-9/11 transformation, and current operations.You will glimpse the special tactical training Special Agents and FBI personnel receive, as well as an array of cases the Bureau has investigated over the years. Please allow 2 hours for this tour.

Reservations must be made at least three weeks in advance of a visit, and a background check will be conducted. Personal security information is required for the background check. Unfortunately, foreign nationals are not currently permitted to attend a tour.

Pentagon

This tour includes one hour guided tour of the Pentagon.  Reservations must be made at least three weeks in advance and background check will be conducted.  Personal security information is required for the background check.
