On Sunday, Dec. 18, approximately 40 employees from the Afghan Ministry of Defense came to Resolute Support Headquarters for a seminar on financial management practices and an opportunity to network with fellow colleagues in the finance field. The employees are younger, English-speaking Afghans, all with college degrees in relevant fields, currently in a program similar to an apprenticeship or internship. The goal is to move these employees into permanent civil service positions at the MOD after each employee completes their specific program. This investment in capacity-building is one way RS is helping to develop long-term stability in the Afghan government through our #trainadviseassist mission.
