What You Can File Online

USCIS Immigrant Fee

If the Department of State (DOS) gave you an immigrant visa, you must pay the $165 USCIS Immigrant Fee online. While you may pay this fee after immigrating to the United States, we recommend that you do so after you receive your immigrant visa packet from a U.S. Embassy or Consulate abroad (including Canada and Mexico) and before you depart for the United States. You will not receive a permanent resident card (Green Card) until you pay this fee.

Anyone can pay the USCIS Immigrant Fee for you. For example, a family member, friend, employer, attorney, or accredited representative can pay the fee for you as long as they have your Alien Registration Number (A-Number) and DOS Case ID.

Note: If your visa status is SB1 (returning lawful permanent resident) and you need a new Green Card, you must file a Form I-90, Application to Replace Permanent Resident Card.

Visit the USCIS Immigrant Fee page for more information about how to pay this fee.

Form I-90

If you are a lawful permanent resident, you may file online to apply for a replacement or renewal of your existing permanent resident card (Green Card). You must complete the online version of the Form I-90, Application to Replace Permanent Resident Card through your USCIS online account.  If you are a conditional permanent resident, you may file online to apply only for a replacement of an existing Green Card. You may not use this form to apply for an extension or renewal of your status.

Visit the Form I-90 page for more information about this form.
