Huizenga Jobs

GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. - Congressman Bill Huizenga made a stop in Grand Rapids Friday morning to discuss the economy and jobs.

He stopped by The Knickerbocker, New Holland Brewing's brewpub and distillery, in Grand Rapids on Oct. 7.

Huizenga talked about the critical role small businesses play in the US economy, and how over taxation can limit their growth. He also discussed the importance of manufacturing and making sure people have the right skills.

"We know manufacturing is the backbone in Michigan and needs to remain the backbone -- and make sure that is solid," Huizenga said.

An estimated 12-million Americans work in manufacturing, more than 555,000 here in Michigan.
