Last week, Governor Deal and the Georgia Department of Transportation broke ground on the Interstate 285/State Route 400 interchange improvement project. This project will alleviate congestion and improve safety for residents of our district. Governor Deal released a statement which reads in part:

“The I-285/SR 400 interchange improvement project includes improvements on I-285 from west of Roswell Road in Fulton County, to east of Ashford Dunwoody in DeKalb County (4.3 mile...s) and on SR 400 from the Glenridge Connector to Spalding Drive (6.2 miles). The enhancements include construction of new flyover ramps, new collector-distributor lanes and other facilities to aid east-west travel on I-285 and north-south travel along SR 400. The project also includes a diverging diamond interchange on Abernathy Road at SR 400 and an extension of the PATH 400 trail system to inside the perimeter. The completed project is expected to save commuters who travel the corridor eight hours per year and reduce daily delays for all users of the interchange by 20,000 hours.”

Our Better Way health care plan put patients, families, and doctors in charge of health care decisions.

It’s clear that Obamacare is failing and we need a better way. Luckily, we have one. Having heard your frustrations, House Republicans spent the last several months taking our Better Way agenda to every corner of the country. A cornerstone of this agenda is our bold new ideas on health care—ideas th...

Washington has tried the bureaucratic way, and it is failing. It’s time to try a Better Way.

Check out my blog post below to learn more about our Better Way plan. We'll repeal and replace Obamacare with patient-centered solutions that put patients, families, and doctors in charge of health care decisions.

Last week, the Obama Administration announced that benchmark plans offered on the Obamacare exchanges would see, on average, a 25 percent increase in their premiums for 2017. That’s nearly four times greater than what the Congressional Budget Office had projected for next year. Rates will be going u...

The United States Tax Code has become needlessly complicated and costly at a detriment to businesses and families. We need to act and act soon to simplify the code and make it fairer for all. House Republicans are taking action and have developed a new “tax blueprint” for pro-growth tax reform that would enable most Americans to file their taxes on a form as simple as a postcard.

Right now, our tax code looks like a block of Swiss cheese. Our plan closes the loopholes, cuts taxes for everyone, and makes the tax code so simple that you can do your taxes on a form the size of a postcard.

Today, the Florida-Georgia trial over water rights begins in Portland, Maine. The U.S. Supreme Court’s designated Special Master will hear the decades-long dispute. A recommendation will then be made to the U.S. Supreme Court to determine how much water Georgia may use from the Chattahoochee and Flint rivers.

This is an extremely important issue and one on which we’ve been actively working. Having this decided by the court is not a great option – though it is all we are left... with due to the lack of cooperation from both Florida and Alabama on gaining an agreement. It is ridiculous for Georgia to potentially not be able to responsibly use a resource right here in our state for one of the largest metropolitan areas in the nation. But as the saying goes: Whiskey’s for drinkin’, water’s for fightin’.

We will closely monitor the proceedings and are hopeful for a successful outcome. In Congress, we will continue to work to safeguard Georgia and the Atlanta area’s access to vital, reliable water resources statewide, so that our local communities and Georgia can continue to grow and prosper.

At $1.9 trillion, the annual regulatory burden in this country is greater than the income tax burden and roughly equivalent to half of what the federal government spent last year. The regulatory regime in Washington effectively functions as a 4th branch of government, and the current Administration has been particularly shameless in abusing regulatory authority to try to implement an agenda against the will of the American people.

House Republicans have a plan to put the interests of the American people above those of the Washington bureaucracy. When it comes to American energy, education, financial independence, innovation, and more, our Better Way plan promotes a healthier economy and more opportunity.

America’s economy is the greatest in the world, but we are FAR from our potential. There is a better way, and it starts with getting government OUT of the way.

Congrats to you Mr. Calhoun on 59 years of hard work. You’re an inspiration to us all and we hope you had a wonderful 73rd birthday!

Republicans in the House of Representatives – the branch of government closest to the people – have a plan to restore Constitutional Authority as intended by our Founding Fathers. Our Better Way plan will uphold the balance of power and reaffirm the principles of limited government and accountability – both of which will also help protect those powers reserved for the states.

Speaker Paul Ryan

After decades of overreach by both parties, it is time we restore our Constitution. Under our plan, Congress will impose new limits on spending and enforce clear lines of authority.

Skip Wells was a proud Marine. He made the ultimate sacrifice and selflessly gave his life to protect his fellow service members and to protect our nation.

I applaud this move to rename this park in honor of a true American and Georgian hero, so that all future generations may learn of and honor his heroic sacrifice to our nation. We are forever grateful.

In Georgia, Obamacare rates are set to increase by another 33% on average in 2017, though some options could go higher. More evidence that Obamacare is unaffordable, unsustainable, and unworkable.

I will continue to fight to repeal and replace it with our Better Way plan to provide quality, affordable health care that puts patients, families, and doctors in charge of medical decisions—not Washington, D.C.

This week, the President's Administration confirmed that Obamacare premiums will see steep, double-digit increases in 2017. Now, Georgia Congressman Tom Price,
zpolitics.com

Another year, another increase. The Obama Administration confirmed double-digit Obamacare premium hikes for 2017.

While President Obama and Democrats have the audacity to tout Obamacare’s “ success," the cold hard facts and figures prove the opposite is true. Every single day Obamacare is making the quality of health care in this country worse and next year alone, benchmark Obamacare premiums are set to increase 25 percent on average for states that use the federal healthcar...e.gov marketplace.

The President and Democrats want to throw more tax dollars at the problem and want to pass more laws to prop up Obamacare, but the last thing we need is more government involvement in health care. American patients and taxpayers cannot afford Obamacare and clearly this law was doomed from the start. These latest price hikes prove now more than ever that we must ditch this broken, unaffordable law.

It’s time for a better way to put patients, families, and doctors back in charge of medical decisions. President Obama and Democrats must put their pride and politics aside so that we can start over with a Better Way—a step-by-step plan to give every American access to quality, affordable health care.

In a nation of 323 million people, it makes no sense for one federal bureaucracy to dictate Americans' health insurance plans. House Republicans offer a better way.

The United States Tax Code has become needlessly complicated and costly at a detriment to businesses and families. This past weekend marked the 30th anniversary of the Tax Reform Act of 1986, the nation’s most recent federal tax overhaul. Don’t you think it’s time for tax reform?

We need real solutions, like the FairTax to simplify the code and make it fairer for all. House Republicans are taking action and have developed a new “tax blueprint” for pro-growth tax reform that ...would enable most Americans to file their taxes on a form as simple as a postcard. It’s called A Better Way Forward on Tax Reform. This plan puts American tax payers first with a tax code that is built for growth – the growth of families’ paychecks, the growth of job creators, and the growth of the American economy.

Joined Varney & Co. on Fox Business this morning to discuss Obamacare's unraveling.

We know Obamacare isn't working. It's bad for the economy and the quality of health care in this country. And despite what President Obama says, the last thing we need is the government making more decisions about our health care!

We have a comprehensive plan to get Washington, D.C. out of health care--it's called a Better Way Forward on Health Care. Our plan puts patients, doctors, and families back in charge of medical decisions. Learn more @ BETTER.GOP.

'Families and working-age Americans are facing growing costs in housing, health care and education that have far outpaced inflation.
