I wrote in The Oklahoman yesterday that this election is not only a referendum on the past eight years of President Obama's failed policies.

There are roughly 4,000 political appointees selected or nominated by the president. Voters have the choice to select someone who will fire them all or simply carry on the status quo. After all is said and done, the mudslinging of this election will be a distant memory but the policy decisions we must live under will not be.

When Isaiah and his family had trouble obtaining his American citizenship ten years after he was adopted, my staff worked with organizations like Catholic Charities and USCIS of OKC to help clarify his situation and secure his citizenship in time for him to pursue higher education and vote for the first time this November.

This week I was honored to receive the NAHB Defender of Housing Award from the Oklahoma State Home Builders Association. I'm proud of their efforts to continue to provide quality housing throughout our state!

Today I had the opportunity to visit with Central Electric Cooperative CEO David Swank who showed me around their new headquarters along with some of the exciting technology they are using to update the grid system!

The freedoms we enjoy here at home today exist because of the sacrifices of the men and women who serve our country’s armed forces. To those who were prisoners of war or remain missing in action, you are not forgotten.

Fifteen years later the memory from that fateful morning has not faded. For many of us 9/11 was a defining moment in our lives and today we honor the memories of the family members, friends and first responders who were taken from us too soon.

Great to speak with the State Chamber of Oklahoma this morning in Washington about various ag and finance issues our state faces. Next week the House will vote on the CHOICE Act which lifts Dodd-Frank's burdensome regulations on small community banks and will help move our economy back in the right direction.

Today in the Financial Services committee, I discussed the significance of regional federal reserve banks with President and CEO of the Kansas Federal Reserve, Esther George.

These regional institutions are the eyes and ears of the federal reserve and help guide our country’s monetary policy. I also had the opportunity to ask Ms. George about the impact and factors at play behind the lower energy and ag commodity prices that are affecting states like Oklahoma.

Felt this morning's earthquake all the way in Roger Mills county and we are keeping a close eye on any reports of damages throughout the 3rd district.

Also I'm glad to hear that no damage was found at OSU's stadium after inspection. Hope to see everyone at today's game #GoPokes

Later this month the OKC VA hospital is holding a town hall meeting. This is a great opportunity to ask questions and speak directly with VA leadership in your area. Please share with any family or friends you think may be interested in attending!

Boise City Town Hall Meeting

Great town hall meeting this morning in Guymon! Discussed several of the efforts I am working on in the three congressional committees I serve on: the science behind the GMO labeling debate, repealing burdensome Dodd-Frank regulations hurting small community banks, and the latest legal challenges mounted against the EPA's Waters of the U.S. rule which is creating widespread uncertainty for landowners and businesses.

Heading to my next panhandle town hall today in Boise City (115 West Main Street) that starts at 10:30am.

I'm in the panhandle this week! This afternoon I will be hosting a town hall meeting at the Beaver County Farm Bureau. And tomorrow morning I will be in Guymon and Boise City for two more town halls. Find all the details here on my website
