(Washington, DC) – Congressman Charles W. Boustany, Jr., MD, (R-South Louisiana) issued the following statement welcoming Gen. Robin Rand to his new post as commander of Air Force Global Strike Command housed in Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana. Today is Gen. Rand’s first day in command. He is the Air Force’s first four-star general in that post.

Boustany said: “I am very pleased to welcome Gen. Rand to Barksdale on his first day in command of Global Strike Command. As the Air Force’s first four-star general in the post, Gen. Rand’s installation is proof of the Air Force’s commitment to a strong presence in Louisiana. I am grateful to outgoing commander Lieutenant General Stephen ‘Seve’ Wilson for his exceptional leadership since 2013, and I look forward to working with Gen. Rand to ensure Air Force Global Strike Command continues to operate as an integral part of our military’s offensive capabilities into the next decade and beyond.”
