(Washington, DC) – Congressman Charles W. Boustany, Jr., M.D., (R-South Louisiana) issued the following statement after news broke that American citizen Quinn Lucas Schansman was killed in the crash of Malaysian Airlines flight MH17 in eastern Ukraine.  

“Actions have consequences. Allowing the region of eastern Ukraine to spiral out of control in the absence of a strong and assertive America abroad has now caused a tragedy involving the death of at least one American citizen on Malaysian Airlines flight MH17. Americans are shocked and saddened by this loss, but our resolve is strong. We will get to the bottom of this, and we will work with our allies to ensure that those responsible are brought to justice for their actions.”
