White House - Website

White House tours are very difficult to arrange, especially during the holiday season and spring and summer months. This is a self-guided tour that includes four rooms and requires a minimum of one month’s advance notice. The White House Visitors Office requires tour requests to be submitted at least 21 days in advance, and requests are more likely to be granted if made at least four to six months out. The White House requires that you submit all group members’ full names, dates of birth, and social security numbers. Please keep in mind that the White House is CLOSED for tours on Sundays, Mondays, November 28th - December 4th (Thanksgiving), and December 22- January 1 (Winter Holidays.) It is important to note that my office cannot guarantee tickets to tour the White House; tours are approved or denied solely at the discretion of the White House Visitors' Office.

These tickets are available daily on a first-come, first-served basis at the ticket booth on Raoul Wallenberg Place (formerly 15th Street SW). The Ticket Booth opens at 8:00 a.m. Monday through Friday and closes when all tickets have been distributed. Lines form early and tickets go quickly. Tickets are often gone by 9:00 a.m., so please plan accordingly. Public tours during the non-peak season (September to March) require no tickets. You may line up at the Visitors’ Entrance on 14th Street SW. Please allow 45 – 50 minutes from the time you enter the building until the end of your tour.
