U.S. Senator Richard Shelby (R-AL), after opposing the Senate Budget Resolution, which passed by a vote of 55-43, issued the following statement:

“Budgets are about priorities.  This budget puts more money into expanding the government bureaucracy than it does back into the pockets of hardworking Americans.  The deficit it creates this year alone is more than quadruple the largest deficit in United States history.   

“This budget is fiscally irresponsible and simply unsustainable.  Its priorities are not just wrong, but dangerous for our country.”
