LYNX

Congressman John Mica continues work with local transportation leaders and LYNX to expand public transit service (especially in underserved areas such as East Orange County), to create a strong foundation for fixed transit service such as SunRail and other newly developing systems and to improve the ridership experience for system users.

Specifically, Mica has worked with local leaders to provide federal support for the development and construction of intermodal stations throughout the 7th Congressional District. Stations serving future SunRail service and other public transit options are being completed and are serving riders. Mica has also been persistent in urging LYNX to increase the number of shelters to adequately serve the thousands of riders left every day in the rain, heat and inclement weather.

Additionally, Congressman Mica has urged LYNX to explore options, such as the privatization of operations, to lower taxpayer-costs and improve services.
