WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Senator George V. Voinovich (R-OH) issued the following statement today on the national debt surpassing $12 trillion: 

“Today our nation has come to a monumental crossroads: our national debt – much of which is money borrowed from foreign countries like China and the OPEC nations – has hit $12 trillion dollars. Our federal spending is truly out of control. Will we continue down this destructive, unsustainable course or will Congress take responsible action?
