Sen. McCain Applauds the Disaster Declaration for the Schultz Fire Flooding

I applaud the President’s recent disaster declaration for the Schultz Fire flooding near Flagstaff, Arizona.  This announcement triggers the release of Federal funds to help the affected communities recover from the severe flooding that occurred in July and August.  While the declaration is an important component of the federal response, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Forest Service must do more by ensuring a long-term commitment to flood mitigation projects for the area.”
