Solicitation for Comment: Commercial IT Contracting

Over the past several months, the Senate Finance Committee (“Committee”) has been examining federal information technology (“IT”) contracting practices.  To assist the Committee in better understanding these practices, Chairman Hatch is now requesting additional feedback from the commercial IT contracting community on the use of commercial or non-developmental products by federal agencies.  This link provides the Chairman’s letter outlining the issue as well as specific questions that the Committee would like for the community to respond to.  All submissions from stakeholders will be reviewed by Committee staff and ideas may be incorporated into future policy recommendations and/or analysis of this emerging area.

Additional Submission Requirements:

·         All submissions must be submitted as a pdf attachment to the email address ITContracting@finance.senate.gov. The attachment should be saved using the name of the organization/individual submitting the recommendations.
·         Please include contact name, organization or company (if the submission is being submitted on behalf of a group), phone number, and email address, in the body of the email.  Please note, submissions may be made anonymously, but the Committee reserves the right not to include them.
·         Submissions will be accepted through close of business on November 2, 2016.
·         If the above directions are not followed, the Committee reserves the right to not include the submission.

Please note that information submitted to the Committee, if used in any Committee work product, will not be attributed to the company, organization, or individual who submitted it.  All submissions will be treated as proprietary and will be used only by Committee staff.  If you have technical issues or further questions about this request, please contact majority Committee staff at (202) 224-4515.
