Rep. Fincher to Host ‘Ready, Set… Hired!’

Washington, D.C. – Today Congressman Stephen Fincher (R-Frog Jump) announced he will host “Ready, Set… Hired!’ a West Tennessee jobs fair with jobs-focused breakout sessions, Thursday, August 14, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Dyersburg State Community College in the Jimmy Naifeh Center (3149 Hwy. 51 S., Covington, TN).

“A strong job market is the keystone of a strong economy,” said Congressman Fincher. “And getting more West Tennesseans back to work with good-paying jobs continues to be my number one priority. That’s why I’ve put together ‘Ready, Set… Hired!’ a Jobs Fair with a twist.”

Fincher continued, “This unique Jobs Fair will feature businesses that are hiring as well as several breakout sessions to help folks prepare to join or re-join the workforce.”

Congressman Fincher’s Jobs Fair will feature several career-focused breakout sessions in partnership with Dyersburg State Community College. Breakout sessions will include: Employers who are hiring; College information; Lab to apply for jobs online or help building resumes; Counselors for financial aid or info on Tennessee Promise (which provides two years of free education at community colleges); and Free Health Screenings.

Fincher continued, “If you or someone you know is currently in search of employment, I hope to see you there.”

The Northwest Tennessee Workforce Board (Career Center) in Covington is helping folks prepare their resumes for the Jobs Fair every Tuesday and Thursday, free of charge. Upcoming resume workshops include: Tuesday: July 29, August 5, Tuesday 12; and Thursday: July 31, August 7.
