Slaughter Announces $150 Million Award for Carestream Health
WASHINGTON, DC — Congresswoman Louise Slaughter announced a multi-million dollar award for Carestream Health from the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) to supply critical picture archiving and communications system products to the four U.S. military branches.
“Rochester’s Carestream Health has the best and brightest individuals working to maintain its position as a global leader in health care imaging and technology,” said Slaughter. “Carestream Health has always provided exceptional medical imaging services to the Department of Defense, Veterans Administration, and other federal partners, and that is why they were competitively selected for this $150 million dollar, 10-year partnership with our military. This award is a testament to their world-class service and technologies.”
Carestream Health was selected in a competitive process of seven offers from across the country for this work. They will provide digital imaging, picture archiving, and communication system equipment as well as maintenance support services to the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps, as well as federal civilian agencies. The contract contains a five-year base period of performance and one five-year option extending to 2026.
Rochester-based Carestream offers medical and dental imaging, healthcare information technology, x-ray imaging systems for non-destructive testing, and advanced materials for the precision films and electronics markets.
