Washington, D.C. – Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy (CA-23) released the following statement on passage of H.R. 5021, the Highway and Transportation Funding Act of 2014:
“Our highway trust fund is going broke, and without action we will see costly construction delays and allow key infrastructure to deteriorate further. This is a reasonable proposal that will ensure that projects continue as scheduled and workers stay on the job while we work on a long-term solution that will reform and strengthen the trust fund.”
