Official Photo

Stephen Fincher, 42, is a managing partner in Fincher Farms, a seventh generation West Tennessee based agribusiness. He has worked in agribusiness his entire life and lives in the Frog Jump community of Crockett County.

Inspired by a desire to serve his fellow citizens and get America back on track, Rep. Fincher ran for Congress in 2009 and joined the House of Representatives in 2010. Now in his third term, he sits on the House Committee on Financial Services.

Rep. Fincher is steadfast in supporting policies that promote job growth. He serves as the conservative champion for reforming the Export-Import Bank of the United States. The Ex-Im Bank has supported more than a million jobs nationwide over the last five years and over 8,300 jobs in Tennessee alone. The Bank pays for itself and allows American businesses to compete on a level playing field with competitors oversees.  His legislation will fix the Bank and make it a job promotion machine that expands opportunities in West Tennessee and across America.

Mr. Fincher also played a tremendous roll in reauthorizing the Terrorism Risk Insurance Program Reauthorization Act (TRIA) of 2015 by successfully gathering his colleagues to call on leadership to take immediate action to extend TRIA – which was signed into law in January 2015. Additionally, Mr. Fincher is the original author of Title I of the bipartisan JOBS Act, which was signed into law in April 2012. This legislation created the category of the Emerging Growth Company. Since the JOBS Act was enacted into law, 561 companies have gone public as emerging growth companies, which is 84% of all Initial Public Offering’s according to the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Throughout his career, Rep. Fincher has been very active in his community and has championed many local causes by fundraising and actively assisting those in need. While in Congress, he has received multiple awards for his commitment to fight for common sense policies that will restore fiscal responsibility to Washington and increase economic growth. This year, Rep. Fincher has received the Guardian of Seniors’ Rights Award from the 60 Plus Association, the Spirit of Enterprise Award from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce – an award he has received every year since being elected to Congress – and the Award for Conservative Achievement on behalf of the American Conservative Union.

Rep. Fincher is a Lifetime Member of the NRA. He and his wife Lynn have been married for over 20 years and have three children John Austin, Noah and Sarah.

Congressman Fincher serves on the House Committee on Financial Services and two  of its subcommittees: the Subcommittee on Capital Markets and Government Sponsored Enterprises and the Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations.
