FLAGSTAFF – The district offices of U.S. Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick, D-Ariz., have reached the $1 million mark this year in casework savings and benefits to District One constituents who need help cutting red tape or solving problems with VA benefits, federal agencies or programs. This is the fourth consecutive year that Kirkpatrick’s caseworkers have surpassed the $1 million mark.

NAVAJO COUNTY
FLAGSTAFF – U.S. Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick, D-Ariz., issued the following statement about the Navajo Nation’s lawsuit against the Environmental Protection Agency for negligence related to the disastrous Gold King Mine spill in August 2015.
FLAGSTAFF – This week, U.S. Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick, D-Ariz., honored high school students from across Arizona who received her 2016 Congressional Community Service Awards. Kirkpatrick invited the students and their families to a Monday ceremony at the Museum of Northern Arizona in Flagstaff.
WASHINGTON — U.S. Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick, D-Ariz., is pleased to announced that Window Rock Airport on the Navajo Nation will receive a $1,425,060 grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation for safety upgrades.
The grant will fund the full rehabilitation of the outdated Runway 20 lighting system and improve safety operations at the airfield during low visibility conditions. Window Rock Airport is a public use airport and is one of six airports owned by the Navajo Nation.

Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick visited the NAU campus over the weekend to discuss a grant she helped secure for NAU from the National Science Foundation.
The grant is for $525,000 and will take effect in May. Kirkpatrick says the grant will go towards research and to develop software that will facilitate collaboration between research projects at NAU.
Farming is more than an Arizona industry - it's our heritage. Our farms and their regional commodities are the foundation of the "5 Cs" on our state seal: Copper, Cattle, Cotton, Citrus and Climate.
The last of the five - Climate - is certainly not least. Arizona's year-round sunshine is the driving force of our state's $17 billion agricultural industry. Yuma County alone produces 90 percent of the nation's winter leafy greens and even helped saved the medjool date from extinction.
