REP. LORETTA SANCHEZ STATEMENT TO RECOGNIZE KEY STATES RATIFYING THE PARIS AGREEMENT

Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez (CA-46) today released the following statement to recognize key states ratifying the Paris Agreement on climate change.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez (CA-46) today released the following statement applauding states ratifying the Paris Agreement.

As key countries have committed to protecting our planet, we are one step closer to implementing the historic Paris Agreement.  Countries that have ratified the Paris agreement so far make up over 55 percent of global emissions, allowing the Paris Agreement to be implemented in November.

"I applaud these key nations for ratifying the Paris agreement as we make it a global effort to fight carbon pollution.  It is not one country's responsibility to protect the global environment and cannot be done alone.  It is up to us to protect the environment our next generations will be living in."

"This agreement is only the beginning.  We as an international community must continue to advocate for investments in clean and renewable energy both in developed and developing countries.  The United States must be at the forefront of the fight against global warming and the impacts of climate change.
