Mr. Speaker, I rise in opposition to HR 6094. Our nation’s overtime rules have not been updated for over a decade, and today a person can make as little as $23,600 and not be paid a dime in overtime. Forty years ago, 62% of salaried workers were compensated for extra hours and now only 7% are eligible. It is clear that needs to change.

Mr. Speaker, I rise in opposition to this bill. It is extremely disappointing that Congressional Republicans continue to devote floor time to legislation like H.R. 3438 that helps big money special interest groups at the expense of the safety and well-being of the public.
