WASHINGTON, D.C.—The Senate Republican Conference (SRC) today announced it has joined Instagram, the popular photo-sharing social network site, as a way to continue expanding the Republican conference’s digital outreach. With 90 million monthly active users, Instagram’s innovative photo-sharing platform is an opportunity for the SRC to share digital content with a larger audience, including its current social network of nearly 100,000 followers on Facebook and Twitter.

Since becoming the SRC chairman, Senator John Thune (R-S.D.) has made digital outreach a top priority. The SRC has nearly doubled its followers on Twitter in the last year alone. In January of this year, SRC released a mobile website and mobile application for Apple and Android devices.
